New Review- Roomies by Christina Lauren

I know everyone is running around with the holidays coming but if you find a little quiet time and want to have fun, Roomies by Christina Lauren is a perfect entertaining book. This story is heartwarming, cute and adorable!

Holland has not found her way yet but she has the best supporting family, a crazy friend and an addiction to a street musician. Every day she is captivated by the notes of the beautiful man playing into the train station and her crush is getting bigger and bigger but she is too shy to do anything… until he saves her from an attack.

Calvin has only a passion; music and he will do anything for it. When the colorful girl gets him an audition for her uncle, a Broadway’s famous director and he is offered a job, nothing will stop him from accepting and obtaining a Visa even if it means accepting a crazy wedding proposal by Holland.

Holland has to keep her crush hidden but living with the gorgeous, talented man makes it impossible. She is fascinated by his music but her heart cannot resist all the other feelings he evokes. Calvin is grateful to Holland but besides that there is an attraction there he wants to surrender to.

Their marriage of convenience made their lives inconvenient as they do everything backwards. A wedding brought a first kiss, then a sexual relationship that brought a closer friendship and bond. Although, they start slowly, when they fall for each other, you will read quickly until the end.

Holland is a quirky character who feels like a second character into her life but eventually she finds herself something that I liked. Sometimes her insecurities irked me but being young justifies it. I love her relationship with her family and that she is caring and helpful. Finding a backbone is the best thing happening to her throughout the book.

Calvin is a sweet and kind man. He is mysterious and has the vibe of a talented person that soon will be a star. His “pretend” messages to Holland made the beginning of this book stronger and I admired that he was open to his feelings.

They both make mistakes but they make you swoon and you root for them because it is not easy marrying a stranger. They have to go through getting to know each other and earning the trust between them. They click from the start and their growing love is endearing.

This is a story that will make you feel good and although, I would have loved to see an epilogue, this couple will leave you smiling!
