Scarlett is in Stanford and competing in platform diving. She is a serious girl committed to her sport and her studies. She has though a spicy secret. She likes BDSM and the captain of the swim team, Lukas is there to satisfy her. So, they make an arrangement for a temporary fling.
As the pressure of their sports intensify , they find support into each other and suddenly, they both fall deeply.
I liked both characters. Scarlett is smart and driven, Lukas is disciplined and hot.
I have to say that the author nailed on the aspect of the sports. You could feel the tension, their passion, the failures, their thirst to succeed and the pressure they put on themselves.
The fact that Lukas had a relationship with Scarlett’s friend beforehand and the way that she allowed them to sleep together was a little strange for me.
Now for the BDSM part of the book, I think that for those like me that have read erotic books, their scenes were light. Maybe for the newbies of the genre it will be extra hot. It is definitely more sensual for an Ali Hazelwood book. Don’t forget that the couple is two young adults that are still finding their footing in the “bed” department.
I really enjoyed Deep End and it is one of my favorite of Ali’s stories! This author definitely wins me over with her smart heroines and their hot boyfriends!
