The Simple Wild is one of top favorite books of all times, so I was equally excited and scared for this sequel. It is not easy for an author to write a great follow up after an amazing start but this couple needed it and K.A. Tucker made it a beautiful reality. Wild at Heart is back with our favorite couple but this book is more about the heroine’s growth than everything else. I would say that this book is more woman’s fiction than romance but it is beautifully written.
Calla and Jonah are more in love than ever but when she follows him back to Alaska, their relationship cannot be the only focus. Jonah is trying to provide everything for her but he leaves her a lot alone, so she has to learn to embrace the wilderness of the place.
Calla really touched me with her attitude. When we met her at book one she was a spoiled princess. Now, she is mature and honest even when she makes mistakes. She finds her place in the hostile but enchanting environment finding new friends and making new connections.
Jonah is still the blunt and direct man but he shows his vulnerabilities and his deep love for the city girl.
Although, the focus of the book is Calla, the moments they spend together are sizzling. Their relationship gets more meaningful and truer. I would have loved to see them more together but even those scenes between them are satisfying. They open their souls and their hearts.
The author’s writing is vivid that makes you live the story. You become a part of these characters and the scenery. There has not been an author that has made me want more to visit a place based on the descriptions.
I could read endlessly about Jonah and Calla! Wild at Heart made me crave more about this lovely couple and the idyllic Alaska!
