New Review- Caste in the Stars by Leylah Attar

Leylah Attar has been one of my top favorite authors for years and when I read her books, it is like seeing an old friend; her words are like a warm hug.

Caste in the Stars is a second chance romance story about a Hollywood star and a woman that cannot escape her family’s expectations.

Priya is divorced, has lost her job and forced to go back to her parents’ funeral home. Born in a family from India, she is trapped in cultural expectations, traditions and complexities of castes. She hates the life her parents have drawn for her until her lifelong crush ,now a famous actor, rents the funeral home so he can prepare for a role.

Priya has always liked Ethan but seeing him everyday brings everything in the surface. He wants her but she will have to face some truths and break some rules to be with him.

I have to say I felt a little bad for both of them especially for Priya. Her parents are not bad but they  are smoldering her. Here in Greece we have close family bonds too, so I can understand that they do it from love but sometimes to find ourselves, we have to break free from social restrictions.

I love how Priya finds her identity  and in a way that her parents feel proud of her. She chooses her life path without refusing her legacy. Ethan is a wonderful hero. He is playful , protective  and sweet.

Priya’s best friend and Ethan’s sister brings all the fun with her love for cats.

This book is all about romance, family, food and different cultures. Ethan and Priya might be from other “castes” but their love is written in the stars!
