When I chose Quicksilver when it was out , I was not familiar with Callie Hart ‘s writing and I was completely surprised how much this book consumed me. It became one of my top favorite books of 2025 and I couldn’t wait for the second book.
Saeris is a thief, a survivor in a land of an endless desert. She will do anything for herself and her brother in order to live just one more day. When she faces death, she opens a gate to a world of ice and powerful Fae. She is not though powerless. She soon finds out she is an Alchemist, something that makes her useful for one of the warriors, Kingfisher.
These two began as enemies but as evil forces wanted to destroy them, they soon became allies. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter fantastic.
The world building was amazing, the side characters so interesting and the plot so fast pacing. The cliffhanger was surprising so when Brimstone was released, I read it immediately.
Brimstone was not perfect as book one but I really liked it too. We saw Saeris’ growth and how she faced new challenges.
Kingfisher was her ideal soulmate, her protector and the fighter we all have known and loved. There were many things happening in this book, that sometimes it felt a little chaotic. Also, it missed the excitement of the couple falling in love and I would have preferred to see more of them together besides the spicy scenes.
I cannot not make a special note for Saeris’ frenemy, Carrion. This man was hilarious and stole the show many times. I think after reading the books, we all rooted for a story of his own!
Fae & Alchemy Series by Callie Hart is definitely of my most favorite romantasies I have read. It is completely addictive with action, adventure and a heart-stopping romance! Will I pick book three as soon as it gets out? Definitely!
