I have been curious about Chief Inspector Carlton Morley from the beginning of this series and the author delived his story in the best way! We learn the past of this cold, logical man and he is paired with the sweetest heroine!
Morley has one goal, to bring justice to the world. He is a reserved, cool avenger. Chaos has no place into his life but Pru tempts him like no other.
Pru is a proper lady until the night she meets a shadowed man that brings her unexpected passion. She cannot forget him but her father has already plans for her with another man.
When their paths cross again, they are no longer lovers but enemies. Morley has a mystery to solve and a woman to save.
I love that we get to know the man behind the serious facade and he surprised me with the inensity of his love. He is romantic in unexpected ways. Pru is the perfect girl to be paired with this man. She is not naive but she innocent. Although, she is soft we see also her resilience that is admirable.
Although, this book is a standalone, it will be even more enjoyed if you have read the previous books as there are amazing cameos and banter from previous characters.
A Dark and Stormy Knight is a perfect addition to this amazing series and I would love to see more stories added!
