Have you ever tried sci-fi romance? I never thought that I would enjoy it but so far everything I have read works for me. Maybe it’s the new cultures or the unknown love bonds, but for sure there is something interesting and exciting in them. Zoey Draven is an author that writes alien love stories and Craving in His Blood is a sweet friends to lovers book between an alien/vampire and a human.
Millie is alone in this strange world she lives on. She has always traveled with her father who was a chef but now he is gone and she makes the best of it.
Kythel is a man dedicated to his “house” and in order to bring peace to his land, he must marry another rich highborn from his species.
When he meets Millie, there is something that draws him to her but soon he realizes she is his bloodmate, his soulmate. Can he forget her and marry for duty or is this attraction irresistible?
I loved the pace of this book. It’s slow burn and these two become friends despite their bond by blood. They get to truly know each other and the pining is so hot. Millie is a hardworking woman, smart and has knowledge and has respect for all the species. Kythel is loyal to his family, a little gruff and logical. Sometimes he is a little arrogant but he is royal. Their story is a little predictable but fun no less.
Also, the guilt that Kythel carries and the secret that he hides wasn’t something so big for me.
Who knew that alien vampires would make me like them? I will definitely read another sci-fi romance story, especially from this author!
