I had no idea who this author was but instagram made me buy it and I was so glad for that. Better With You is an enemies to lovers/college romance story and it was so sweet!
Bailey is a girl in need of money and the baking contest is her chance to win some. The only problem? She has to partner with the boy who lied and hurt her.
Briggs is a man that has a lot on his plate. When he saw Bailey, he felt enchanted but his complicated life made her hate him. Now he has to convince her that he deserves another chance.
This couple was so fun. Their first meet was so cute and their banter was spot on. Bailey is a spitfire, a girl opiniated and strong. Briggs is a boy a little cocky but in reality hides a very sensitive side. Although, they are young, they are dealing with a lot of issues. Also, don’t be fooled by their youth. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts hot.
I thought this story would go one way but the trope completely changed and it had less angst but it was also heavier. I needed a little more emotional depth for these heavy issues. I stayed a little detached from their feelings while reading their thoughts.
The secondary characters are easygoing and supportive and I would love to read more about them.
Overall, I really liked this story and this will not be my last book from this author!
