New Review- Bright Midnight by Karina Halle

It’s not a secret that I admire romance books set in Europe and Karina Halle returns with another love story that unfolds in wild and majestic, Norway. This book is sexy and passionate!

Shay has been neglected by her family and she spends her time taking photos around Europe, searching for something. Her next destination is Norway, the place where the boy who broke her heart lives.

Anders knows all about the hard life. He is the supporter of his family working as a fisherman and a farmer. He did not choose this life but this life chose him, carrying on with the legacy of his father. He always regretted the choices he made with his first love and now is the time for redemption.

Shay is a great character. She is open, honest and relatable. Anders is the silent hero who loves deeply but his past makes him insecure and a little damaged.

This book goes back and forth with the past and the present. The present is lovely and romantic. You can see their connection, their sensuality, the need to be loved. The past is that lost me in this book. There are some stereotypical things that happened that I highly dislike in romance books. I would have liked to see something else that broke them in their teenage years.

The best thing in this story is the description of Norway. It’s a gift of an author to make you want to take the plane and just go there and visit where the couple goes. I experienced the town, the villages, the beauty along with Shay and Anders.

One thing you might want to know is that this book was written six years ago and you can see the difference and the growth of the author’s writing.

Bright Midnight is a story about second chance in life, forgiveness and love!
