Forsaken Trail is the fourth book in the Runaway series by Devney Perry and it is my favorite so far! It is sweet, fun with two interesting characters and a love story that will make your heart happy!
Aria has a successful job as the head groundskeeper in a luxury hotel but she is lonely. When it is her turn to take the Cadillac , she decides to take it to her sister in Arizona. Her sister, Clara, with her nephew are the only family she’s got, so vacation with them is needed. What she does not need is spending time with Clara’ s boss that she hates.
Broderick is all about business. So when his grandmother interrupts his trip and demands to get back or else, he has to obey. He just needs a fake date to the disastrous wedding of his brother with his ex. He never could stand Aria but as Clara is sick, she has to do.
A fun night with lots of alcohol brings an unforgettable time in the bedroom. Soon they are both back to their lives but there is a problem. Aria is pregnant and they have some decisions to make.
These characters are so cute together. Broderick is arrogant, pompous but surprisingly sweet when needed. I fell in love with his little insecurities and how much he wanted for everything to work. Aria is an independent, sassy woman and although she was getting angry with his controlling ways, I loved that they did not punish each other but they communicated. Together they created their little family with a strong bond.
Now only a book is left in the series and I have to say that from book one I could not wait to learn the story of the only boy of the junkyard runaways!
