Gilded Lily is the second book in the Bennett Brothers series and I have to say that I loved it! Firstly, I want to comment about the cover. I think this is one of the cutest covers I have ever seen. I fell in love with it and I am happy to say that the story is just as adorable.
Kash Bennett is the brother that never left his family. He is a gardener and so much like his dad. He is quiet, laid back and overall cool. He is a huge teddy bear that you want to hug.
Lila is a wedding planner and her middle name is organization. She is independent, strong and with a cold attitude. In other words, the exact opposite of Kash.
Kash does not do serious relationships and Lila needs a rebound guy, so they are perfect for each other. When they both realize that their feelings run hotter and deeper, can they put aside their differences?
I loved both characters and although Kash won me over in the beginning, Lila stole my heart until the end. I love a strong heroine and Lila is such a tough cookie. She is a hard worker, a decent woman with indegrity that I admired. Kash’s calm personality is to be desired. I wish I was so laid back like him. Although, sometimes his insecurities got in the way, he is such a nice, protective guy.
Although, this book is considered a romantic comedy and there is humor, the feelings are deep. These two blossom together. They support each other in difficult situations and they unravel their hidden parts. Even the sensual scenes are lyrically written.
I am so in love with this series! The entire Bennett family has stolen my heart and I am so excited for the next one which is about the logical, Marcus!
