Kai has intrigued us from the previous book and now we take a look at his psyche. He is collected, a businessman but his soul is tormented. I love that he has own sense of loyalty and honor and he tries to follow some rules. He might have some darkness in him but the man is logical and clear headed. Everything he does is calculated and he is strategic. He feels empty but the strange girl that caught his attention is the right one to make him feel motivated again.
Banks is a girl full of antithesis. She is vulnerable but feisty, she has no one but she seeks desperately someone to love her. She runs cold and hot at the same time. I admire her attitude and how much she overcomes. Sometimes I found her reactions over the top but having being raised into bad environment I understood her.
Their relationship is a whirlwind. What I liked more about them was that there were not any other distractions. They are devoted to each other and their attraction is burning. Obligations might stand in their way but they are connected.
I don’t want to say anything about the story itself so you can feel everything and get excited with every page and every twist. This book is long but I found myself reading it in one sitting and that says something.
I love these characters and the author manages to keep the mystery around them making us wanting more and more! I cannot wait to read the next story that will certainly haunt us!
