Hook, Line, and Sinker follows the story of It Happened One Summer where the two side characters get their own happily ever after. It’s a slow burn romance of two friends that become lovers.
Hannah considers herself as the supporting lady in her job and in her life. Now she is back to Westport helping with a film and ready to take some risks.
Fox is a fisherman, a player and a carefree bachelor. When Hannah gets back to town, she is immune to his charm but she wants to be his roommate and his friend.
I was really surprised by how this story unfolded. Tessa is known for her hot stories and this was completely different. The characters became true friends and they showed their vulnerable side. They had chemistry but they won me with their unguarded hearts.
Hannah might consider herself as closed off and shy but her core is steel. She finds her courage and she is so supportive of Fox.
Fox on the other hand is such a different character. When we see womanizers in romance, they own it and they behave accordingly. Fox embraced it without wanting it. There was stigma in his life and we see how much he bothers him. He wants his soulmate but his past is a huge obstacle for him and leaving in a small town makes it more difficult.
I would have liked to see their beginning of the story in this book and from their point of view; to know what these two thought of each other and their first impressions.
Two different worlds collide in the best way and form a love story that needs to be read!
