I have been reading Ilsa Madden-Mills’ books since the first one and her latest story is my perfect match! Not My Match is one of my favorite books by her and it was such a delightful read.
Giselle appears as a prim and proper girl who wears her grandmother’s pearls proudly. She is a physicist who dreams of working in Cern but also having her own happily ever after. After messing her relationship with her sister as she mixed up with her ex and then being cheated, she is now facing one bad date after another. She never expected to be saved by the womanizer of football but Devon offers her help, his friendship and a home.
Devon had always his eyes on the willowy girl but he never had a serious relationship and he will not start now. When he suggests to her to be his roommate, he suddenly finds himself thinking of her all day. He cannot resist her charm and her mind.
These two surprised me. Giselle is not the serious girl she appears to be. She is honest, fun and witty. Devon is not the rake he promises to be. He shows his vulnerable side and how the past has stigmatized him. He does not say the words but his actions speak for him.
I loved that the book focused on their relationship and showed how much they bonded through sharing their hearts. There is not unnecessary drama and their love shines.
Not My Match made me smile and I had this satisfactory feeling after reading it. I felt full of romance, happiness and love.
