New Review- Pieces of Us by A.L. Jackson

Pieces of Us by A.L. Jackson will definitely steal a piece of you! I have been waiting for this book and it was everything I needed. It had the perfect amount of emotional scenes along with humorous situations that made me completely satisfied! Some of this author’s words really touched me and it was like I was there sympathizing with the characters.

Mack is a detective who puts the bad guys behind bars but he still feels like he is dirty because of his past. Being the kid of a terrible man has left him with regrets and guilt. When his most important part of his life comes back, he has to make a decision; forgive himself or lose happiness.

Izzy has always known that Mack is her soulmate but he has been also the deepest hurt too. When she sees him again , she doesn’t know if she must forget him or trust him with the most important aspect of her life.

I really loved all the characters! It is not only the couple that I adored but also the rest of Izzy’s family.

The author goes back and forth between past and present and I liked seeing their past and how it defined them.

Mack is a decent man who has made the mistake of letting Izzy go but it is completely justified. He knows he had to make this decision in the past but now he has matured and he won’t leave her again. He is sexy when needed but the scenes that stole the show for me were the more emotional ones. I shed some tears with his thoughts and his need for forgiveness.

Izzy is a great heroine and a fantastic over all human being. She is kind, caring and really logical. She might have been hurt but I love that she is not bitter but she is easy to forgive and make room in her family for Mack.

The writing is fast and easygoing and I reached the end effortlessly without being bored or tired. A.L. Jackson has a straight forward writing style that I like because it’s vivid like watching a movie.

One of my most favorite things in this author’s books is that the couples are a bit older who face realistic problems that are harder to read but part of our everyday lives.

I can’t believe another amazing series has come to an end but I am already excited to see what this author has in store for us!
