Slap Shot Surprise is the last book in the Cherry Tree Harbor and I loved it! I was so excited about Mabel’s book and when I saw that she falls in love with a Lupo boy, I got even happier!
Mabel and Joe have a funny meet cute that ends up in a one night stand and an unexpected pregnancy.
Our heroine is such a sweetheart. She is kind, logical and considerate. Joe is a man that loves hockey and he is not ready to be a dad but the man surprised me in every way. His mind might refuse the commitment but his heart is all in and he does everything right.
I loved how their relationship developed and how believable it was. They got to know each other despite their fast attraction and overcame all the difficulties together.
Also, seeing their families and friends made this book even sweeter.
This is a heartfelt love story that I read in one go and I have to say that Melanie’s books are like a blanket in the fall weather… they always warm my heart!
