We are never too old for fairytales and The Belladonna Series is a young adult series filled with mystery, gothic vibes and romance! I went into this series blindly and finished it in one go.
Signa and her cousin Blythe are two strong girls that fight for their lives and their happily ever after. There are murders, beautiful gowns and magic. I don’t want to spoil anything about the story itself but I loved the atmospheric set and all the twists and turns.
Signa and Blythe are different to each other as also their love interests and I admired the fact that there is parallelism between them and lightness and darkness. No character is just good or bad but they are multidimensional.
I loved the most the spooky background ; it is like you are transferred into a dark fairytale where everything turns upside down but you root for the characters until the end.
My only complaint is the end of the series which is a little bittersweet but we are getting a Christmas novella, so hopefully our hearts will mend!
