Despite the fact that there is time travel the story is really straightforward. It has romance and suspense as also mystery. Everything moves with a great pace although you wonder what it is behind all this and what it is going to happen. To tell you the truth, nothing surprised me until the end that was really funky and fun!
I also have to say about the note of the author of how much she loved going back to the wicked city of the Point although the books set there did not sell as much. If you are not familiar, the Point is a part of the city where all bad things happen; there is crime, poverty and death. I don’t know why these books did not sell but these are some of my favorites by this author. There is something admirable for people that struggle but in the end survive and find love in the darkness.
I always like Jay’s books and though this is a little weird, it has an exciting storyline and amazing character development!
