Kristen Ciccarelli was a new to me author and I went into this series blindly and with no expectations and what a nice surprise it was! The Crimson Moth Duet although young adult had mystery, tension and an amazing enemies to lovers romance story!
Rune is a socialite that appears aloof and spoiled but in reality, she is a witch with the goal to save her kind from being purged. Gideon is a witch hunter and ready to do anything to catch his enemies.
When these two pretend to court each other for intel, they soon realize that behind the facade there is an undeniable attraction that cannot be contained.
Rune is an intelligent, fierce girl and Gideon is a determined, serious young man that complete each other.
I have to say I loved the first book, which had mystery, sparkles that flied between them and fast pace. The second book needed more growth of their relationship. I liked it but I wanted more communication and love.
I also really liked the world building as it was atmospheric and a little dark with morally grey characters with hidden motives.
If you want an entertaining enemies to lovers with a magical background, then I fully recommend these two books!
p.s. I bought the UK edition with the title The Crimson Moth and a different cover, but not be confused it is the same as Heartless Hunter.
