Raven has just started assisting her mother as the hired help of a powerful family when she meets , Gavin, the son. Their attraction is there from the start but Gavin’s mother would never allow any relationship between them. Gavin though can’t leave the beautiful girl alone and soon they become lovers until everything falls apart.
Ten years later, Raven is back at the house when Gavin returns from London. Their feelings are still there but their lives have changed. Does their love can have a second chance?
This book is written in two parts; the past and the present. When Gavin and Raven were younger, we see how they fell in love deeply and wholeheartedly. I love their connection despite their youth. Although, the reason the broke down was not original, it was believable and I liked that you could justify it.
On the second part, we see them how they reunite. Despite the fact that in the past they were younger, I felt more their bond back then. In the present, we can admit that they both have lingering feelings but I wanted to see more of them getting to know each other. I wanted to see them falling in love again. There is drama that keeps them apart and the way they get back together is a little rushed.
Gavin and Raven are good characters and you see that they belong together. Weldon, Gavin’s brother, is a well written secondary character you get to like and their dad a great addition to the emotional side of the story.
