New Review- The Devil You Know by Elizabeth O’Roark

I read a post by one of the most famous romance bloggers saying that she quit her blog after so many years because books have become repetitive and I caught myself agreeing. I have been struggling with books this year and I don’t review often because I have nothing more to say and then stories like that come and then, I have to shout about it!

Office romance is one of my most favorite tropes and this author did it justice. You can feel the heat, the struggle, the competition between the characters!

I have been intrigued by this hero from the previous books and I knew he needed the right kind of heroine. Gemma was that and even more.

Gemma is a woman in a man’s world that fights everyday to show her worth. She works in a law firm and in order to become partner, she has to remove her hate and work with her nemesis, Ben.

Ben is a hot, intelligent and arrogant man but he has been wanting Gemma from day one. She makes his life difficult but he will make her beg for mercy.

The banter in this book is everything! Their humor is spicy, sharp and clever. These two are explosive together inside and outside the bedroom.

Although, their scenes are angsty, sexy and irresistible, their quiet times together are that won me over.

I missed a little Ben’s point of view as all is written from Gemma’s perspective but in the end, I understood that it worked better, so as not to spoil the heroine’s journey to love.

So, Elizabeth, thank you! Books like yours give us the bloggers something to talk about and keep reviewing!
