The Soulmate Equation is one of the cutest books I have read this year and one of my top favorites by Christina Lauren. This one is an enjoyable and charming read based on a unique idea.
Jess is a single mom and she has not dated forever. She is lost in the dating world and she feels lonely. She knows all about statistics but she never would have thought that she would find her soulmate through a DNA test. No less that her match would be the gruff and strict founder of the DNA matchmaking company, Dr. River Pena.
When they find out that there is 98% compatibilty, they cannot believe it but they at least have to try. River needs it to advertise his company and Jess will be compensated.
These two might be completely different in paper but they soon realize that they connect in a deeper level. Jess is a logical, caring woman with an amazing set of grandparents that are supportive, a lovely little girl and a sassy best friend. River is a nerdy hottie, shy but also direct that shows his sensitivity with his actions.
I loved the setting and the characters of this book and it all worked for me except the conflict in the end. I found River’s behavior odd and Jess’ forgiveness a little quick.
I would love to see Jess’ best friend getting her own book as this girl is shining throughout the book with her smart attitude and her loyalty.
This writing duo found the perfect equation for a sweet and swoonworthy romance book!
