They start a temporary relationship which is sexy and fun but they have many obstacles to overcome.
Beckett is a sweet guy who has become the support of his dad with Alzheimer. He works hard and he is there for his father but he does not have time for relationships. His mom that left them when he was a kid has shown him that staying forever is almost impossible so he cannot open his heart for further hurt.
Maddie is a decisive young woman who knows what she wants. Her mother though has left a negavitity that causes her to mistrust herself and doubt her choices in men. I love that she is caring and accepting.
These two are meant for each other but they both have to grow up and open their hearts to have their happily ever after.
My most favorite part of this book is the sense of family and acceptance. Having a member in my family with Alzheimer, I totally understood the frustration, the sadness Beckett felt and the strength he needed. I loved his relationship with his dad and how his father , although a bit lost, he gave perfect advice. Also, Maddie’s acceptance towards her son and his choices was admirable.
The friendship between these guys is shining and it is endearing seeing how much they are loyal to each other.
Another sizzling and heartwarming series by Melanie Harlow is coming to its end and the author ties everything with an extra epilogue that steals the rest of our hearts!
