Tragic by Devney Perry is a beautiful written, emotionally charged story that will capture your attention from the start! If you don’t read this book, that would be a tragedy! This is one of the best books I have read this year and this author knows how to unlock my heart.
Kaine has lived the worst pain anyone can endure. His family is destroyed and now he is isolated on the mountains living in grief and anger. He has only one passion and that is his woodworking job. He needs his quiet time and he craves loneliness. He has no place for a happy woman knocking on his door and certainly he doesn’t need her trying to reveal his secrets.
Piper leaves a nasty divorce and New York behind to start over in Montana. She likes the scenery especially her new sexy neighbor but the guy runs away at every chance.
Their attraction is sizzling so they both think that a no strings affair could be the perfect distraction from their painful memories. They will have to face though their biggest surprise of their lives, a love bigger than they both expect.
I am not suprised that I loved this story so much as Devney Perry has never let me down. What took me by surprise was the hero. From the blurb I thought that the man would be almost impossible. Although, he is gruff and abrupt sometimes, he is more sensitive and sweet than I expected. He is shy and quiet from his nature.
Piper is a special woman. She is hardworking, independent and fierce. She behaves logically and her actions are always measured. She is a woman to be admired and I love how in tune she is with Kaine’s needs. She knows when to respect his silence and when to push.
This series needs to be read but what book by this author doesn’t?! Devney Perry is an author that works as a balm for romantic hearts!
