When an author knows how to write a good novella without feeling that it is rushed, you know you have found a gem! Samantha Young is a great author and this story is the perfect addition to “Hero”, a book that I have adored! I rarely enjoy short stories but this one felt complete and I was happy with the result.
Nadia is a broadcast meteorologist and though she is a pretty girl, she uses her brain and her charisma to earn her place at the station. When her disgusting boss blackmails her with one of her secrets, she is forced to dig any dirt of a certain billionaire.
Henry might be a womanizer and a player but he is loyal to his best friend and when a redheaded bombshell threatens them, he is ready for war. Henry soon realizes that Nadia is not just a beautiful face but a woman who is misunderstood and he will do anything to make her his.
Nadia is a great heroine. She is independent, confident and sassy. She is true to herself and she doesn’t bow to anyone. She has her vulnerabilities but I admired her strong will and her feisty attitude. Henry starts as a flirt but when he falls, he falls hard. I loved that he is a man to chase the woman he wants and he doesn’t give up. He shows his interest and he is charming. He has flaws but he is good at his core and it is admirable how wonderfully he behaves when he learns Nadia’s secret.
They start as enemies but their chemistry is burning from the beginning and when they surrender to their attraction, they explode. Their banter is delicious and so entertaining! There is the right amount of angst and a sweet epilogue.
If you have loved Hero, then this story is a gift from the author to her fans because it’s an excellent companion novella to the book! If not, enjoy this fast paced ride with this fun couple!
