New Review- Waterfall Effect by K.K. Allen

I don’t usually judge a book by its cover but I certainly bought this one because of it. K.K. Allen is a new to me author and  I was fascinated by the beautiful image and intrigued by the blurb and I have to say I was not disappointed by reading it. This is a second chance romance with suspense and mystery that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Aurora was just a teenager when she was the victim of a terrible crime. She might have been the only who got away although many girls had disappeared but the nightmares never left her. Some years later she is forced to face the ghosts of her past when she returns to the place where everything happened including the boy she never stopped loving.

Jaxon always dreamt seeing the world with Aurora but everything shattered when she abandoned him. Now he lives a simple and quiet life until the girl of his dreams comes back.

I loved how their story unfolded. These two were meant to be together and time never got in their way. They both have moved on but their true love has still remained. The author goes back and forth so we can see their past and I liked that these two matured although they make mistakes. Their relationship is sweet and honest and they are supportive of each other.

Aurora is a girl who has to overcome her fears and I admired her strength and her will to see past the stigma of the past. Jaxon is logical and sensitive with a heart of an artist. Together they just click and they find forgiveness and their lost love.

As there is suspense in this book, I would have liked the writing to be a little tighter. The storyline is great and unique but I would have preferred the rhythm to be faster so the excitement would be bigger.

K.K. Allen wrote a book interesting with a strong love story and the right amount of mystery that will make you want to read until the last page! I cannot wait to see what more this author has to offer…
