Where The Truth Lives is a gripping, breathtaking story that will leave you at the edge of your seat. Mia Sheridan has written some of my favorite emotional reads so I had never expected to see romantic suspense books/ thrillers from her. She surprised me with Where the Blame Lies and now even more with this exciting,rich thriller. Although, I love romance , this book won me because of the horrific storyline. When you expect something, she has twists that bring everything upside down. This book is a continuation of book one but it can be read as a standalone.
Reed has lived a great life so far and with “warriors” in his family, he fights the bad guys as a detective. When a serial killer leaves dead bodies left and right, he is called to solve a mystery like no other.
Liza has a terrible past that haunts her still. She tries to help people as a psychologist but when she faces a murder , all her nightmares come back worse than ever. The detective though brings her security and healing.
I love this hero. He is supportive , caring and protective. He is a good guy with integrity. Liza is a little more closed off but a brave woman who decides to move forward despite her scars. Their love story is sweet and quiet.
The best aspect of this story as I previously said is the plot of the murders. The author is full of surprises and it was like watching a movie. You try to uncover who is guilty and when you think something, you are way off.
Mia Sheridan has written an exhilarating story that will keep you guessing and in the middle of darkness, the lightest thing of all is born; love.
