Work in Progress by Staci Hart is a book that “works” perfectly! This is a feel good story, a romantic comedy with adorable characters that are ideal for each other! This book will make you laugh, swoon and sweeten your soul.
Amelia is a shy, reserved woman who hides like a scared, little mouse until a giant of a man makes an irresistible proposition. If she agrees for a fake marriage , she will get the job of her dreams and he will help her get out of her shell.
Tommy is a modern rogue but his image cannot take more hits. His family depends on him and his job as a famous writer is at stake with all the scandals. The timid blogger is his solution to his problems as long as she says “I do”.
It starts as a marriage of convenience but soon their feelings make everything inconvenient. The sparkles are there from the start and this couple is perfectly balanced.
Amelia is a delicate, inexperienced girl who has sensitivities and insecurities but Tommy is there to protect her and cherish her. She is kind and compassionate and although she makes mistakes , she truly regrets them. I love that when she feels more secure she has a bolder attitude especially when she speaks for her passion, books.
Tommy is brash, brave and confident but he hides the most important thing, his romantic heart. I admire his love and his loyalty towards his family and when he falls for Amelia, he is all in. He is open with his feelings and he is so swoon worthy. Also, he is so respectful of her limits and he is so protective of her.
This book is filled with humor and I found myself laughing by myself especially with Tommy’s dog. It’s easygoing until the drama in the end which was predictable but fortunately quickly resolved.
This series is getting better and better and the sneak peek in the end has left me excited and impatient for more!
