Love Words from Dean to Milly
Red,
I know you woke up alone and with this note taped to your forehead.
But, don’t be pissed.
I said we shouldn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day this year because we love each other every day, right?
I lied.
I’m going all out on Valentine’s Day. I want you to just sit back and enjoy it.
I love you.
From the first time we said those words to each other until yesterday, you have always beat me to it.
I wake up every day and before I even open my eyes, I’ve thought of you.
I go to sleep at night and your name is the last word on my lips. But I NEVER get to say it first.
So, here goes,
I love you, Red. More than I love anything or anyone. And I always have.
When you’re done reading this, take a deep breath. Smell the bacon, muffins and coffee?
Good. Just lay back, and wait a few minutes. The kids and I made you breakfast that you get to eat in bed.
And then your mother’s coming for them, and then I’ll get to eat you in bed.
You’re my heart. My life, my everything and forever.
Love,
D
