Brittainy C. Cherry has a way with words. Every story she writes, she has something to say. Her writing is beautiful and she gives quotes that can keep you company and guide you through life. Eastern Lights might be a lighter book but it does not lack meaning. It is about hope, finding yourself and making your own family of people that matter.
If you have read Southern Storms, then you know about the chicky boy, Connor. Eastern Lights is his story and the author made him justice. We love our bad boys in romance but in real life we would all want a Connor. He has grown to a loyal, smart and caring man. A man who gives his smiles and wisdom openly. A man who feels deeply and he loves wholeheartedly.
When he meets Aaliyah, fate brings them together. They spend an innocent night together where they share their souls and then they part. Two years after, Aaliyah appears again but she is to marry his partner but Connor still feels like her heart belongs to him.
Aaliyah is an orphan, a girl that grew in the system and the one thing she craves is finding a family of her own. When she finds Connor again her pieces of loneliness disappear but she has a secret that might scare Connor away.
These two are sweet together. I had some disagreements about Aaliyah. I did not like her actions toward the man she is going to marry and his family. I could not completely connect with her but Connor stole the show. He is a dream man. I loved his humor, his easygoing personality and his love for his friends and his mom. He has the shoulder to lean on and the hug that keeps you protected.
Brittainy C. Cherry gave me hope with this story that everything can work out. She convinced me that in the middle of darkness there can be light and people you can count on.
