You don’t need many reasons to pick an A.L. Jackson book but this one gives them all! It has passion, suspense and romance to your heart’s content!
Trent has left the his dangerous days in the past but the memories are always there to draw him in the darkness. His only reason to live now is his son and his brothers. When an angelic woman goes to his bar and asks for work, he knows she does not belong there or besides him but he wants her nonetheless.
Eden is a kindergarten but she bears the burdens for her family and she desperately needs a job. What she doesn’t need is an irresistible man that screams death and danger but for the first time in years, she craves for something more.
These two are combustible. Their relationship is burning with want, sensuality and love. I was surprised that although there was insta-lust , they tried to stay away from each other and do the right thing. Their connection is alive and you can feel in your bones the yearning.
The writing is beautiful and the emotions are evoked easily. The scenes from Trent’s past are heartbreaking but in the present you can see the growth of the characters and how they change through love.
The side characters are anything but. Trent’s brothers are so different but their love is shining. Trent’s son is the sunshine to his darkness and I have said it before that this author knows how to insert hope through the children’s innocence.
There is a twist a little predictable for me but many might be surprised. Also, I can never understand how an everyday girl can forgive so easily the sins of MC characters but books are fantasy so everything is settled easier.
Give Me a Reason is a book that will take you on an exciting ride and it will give your heart an emotional punch! It is thrilling, mysterious and romantic… What other reasons do you need?
