This is the first book by Stacy Reid but it will definitely not be my last! Her Wicked Marquess is a fun, flirty and sexy historical romance. I read it at once and it had a modern feeling that made the story lighter without missing the glamour of the era.
Maryann is a wallflower who dreams to find a man to love her and make her own home. Her father has other plans. He wants to marry her to a cruel man and that forces her to take some crazy decisions. She only has to ruin herself and what better way than saying she has been deflowered by the most famous rake, Nicolas Charles St. Gives, the Marquess of Rothbury.
Nicolas has revenge on his mind and not time for silly games by a woman. When he meets though Maryann , his heart beats faster and there is something about her that makes him want to forget everything. He plays a wicked game though and he might put her in danger.
These two are so fun together. Their banter is delightful and their scenes so hot! These two act forward for their time but it is adorable seeing their relationship blossom.
Sometimes their love affair takes second place when Nicolas is seeking his retribution but even that is interesting to see as it makes the different parts of his character shine more.
I enjoyed this book so much and I will definitely go back to read the first book so I can see these cute wallflowers finding love and sin with their passionate scoundrels!
