Hotshot Doc might be the best book R.S. Grey has written! It’s fun, sweet and sexy. It has two of my most favorite elements; office romance and enemies to lovers. There is a fine line between humor and cheesiness and the author managed to write an adorable romantic comedy with depth and as much lightness needed.
Bailey is a great surgical assistant and a woman who raises alone her teenager sister. Everything goes as good as it gets until her boss retires and she is left jobless. She feels desperate enough to accept a position besides the most arrogant surgeon of the hospital. The man is a brute but she doesn’t expect beneath the hard man to find a warm heart but that she does so it is inevitable to fall for him.
Matt is cold and ruthless in his job but lives are on his hands so he needs perfection from everyone. When he is feared from everyone, the little spitfire doesn’t bend. He brings chaos in his life and he soon realizes that she is everything he needs.
I loved both characters. Bailey is confident, quirky and logical. Her relationship with her sister is hilarious which was one of the best parts of the book. Matt might seem a little closed off but you see that he is selfless, hardworking and passionate.
Their relationship is burning hot from the start even when they are still enemies. I really like that it progresses naturally and they both fall in love at the same time. Bailey resists a little but she is open with her feelings. There is no drama until the end and I admire that they solve their problem united and logically.
It’s difficult to find a good rom com but this story is perfect! Maybe it’s the fact that it has a pure romance vibe with as much fun moments as needed, nothing more. No matter the reason the certain thing is that everyone is going to like this book!
