What did I just read?!!! Aly Martinez is one of my top favorite authors but this book gutted me! Having read so many books, I rarely get surprised but this story with its twists and turns captivated me from the start until the very end.
You have to go into this story blindly, so you can feel the ups and downs, all these intense emotions that will grip your heart and won’t let go until the greatest CLIFFHANGER of all times.
Broken characters are my weakness and Charlotte and Porter are both shattered until they meet each other. They wear masks to hide their pain but together they can live in their darkness without faking it.
Charlotte is one of the most devastated heroines I have ever read. Her pain has overwhelmed her but you can see the tiny hope still living inside her. I loved her dry humor and her sarcastic nature but also her tender heart full of pain.
Porter is one of the sweetest and most compassionate heroes I have ever encountered. He is hurt but he still stands proud and kind. He might be in pain but he never gives up the need to help Charlotte. He is a man that can heal with his words and his actions.
Their relationship has its fun moments and its sad ones. They have passion but also understanding. There is acceptance between them. Their flaws and their depressing thoughts bring them closer because there is no judgment.
Their background stories will put you in turmoil and although you can see the painful twist coming, you will still be shocked. Get some tissues ready people!
Aly Martinez always writes amazing stories but this one is exceptional! With this story she passes into another level of awesomeness and the climax in the end will make you rocking into the corner.

I will have to agree with the beginning of the blurb from this book because these words will touch your deepest part of your soul and it will destroy your every thought!
