Jean-Christian or J.C. is a player. He despises commitment and he knows that relationships don’t’t last. He has the perfect example after all; the failed marriage of his parents and all the hurt that came with it. When he sees the maid of honor, he wants her badly, but only for one night. Have fun and forget about her.
Libitz wants to be the perfect maid of honor and that doesn’t include have a taste of the best man. She doesn’t want to spoil the relationship with her best friend. When J.C. flirts with her, she makes everything she can to avoid him but with no avail. He is just so irresistible.
They both enter into uncharted waters. J.C is allergic to love and Lib wants something meaningful. Slowly, they both realize that it’s much more. They have the same interest in arts and with a help of a painting , they soon find that their feelings are the real deal.
I loved that J.C. doesn’t change overnight. He has his fears about commitment and his freak outs, but we see how much he wants to love and be loved. Libitz on the other hand is a woman honest , logic and straight forward but passionate about him.
The back story of the painting was a great touch to this book and I loved the history behind it.
Overall, this was a sweet story with two flirts that changed their ways and found true love with the promise of a good life between them.
